Weight Management
Here at WellnessOne we recognize that obesity is a major epidemic currently affecting millions of Americans. And, being overweight can have serious consequences and complications, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and certain cancers.
We know that being overweight is also a risk and will complicate myofascial pain syndromes, sleep apnea, pregnancy, gallbladder disease, and many other medical problems. The psychological toll is an even a more complicated by product that many overweight individuals face everyday.
WellnessOne now offers weight-management services and obesity prevention as part of our practice. When contemplating an all weight-loss program it should include three important components.
1. Diet
Standardized diets with or without daily menus or create your own. Software is now available to create custom diets for you the patient, complete with menus that include meals and snacks.
2. Exercise
Standardized exercise testing with specific goals and plans to reach these goals is vital to your weight loss success.
3. Follow-up, support, and counseling
Every successful weight-loss program includes some form of follow up, support, and counseling to provide patients and staff a chance to track progress. We are no exception here at Wellness One we have a biweekly weigh-in and counseling with a staff member and then conduct a monthly follow-up with the doctor to monitor progress. In addition, we do offer a patient support group. After all we know the support we give our patients may be the most important component of our program.
